Colour - happy

Following our research into the Pantone Fashion Colour Report for 2012 (see our post about it here), the Little Birdie girls have become more and more infatuated with colour palettes.

We were excited to read about spring colour trends, as designated by the colour experts, Pantone, released in their Fashion Colour Report for 2013. The report was released for New York Fashion Week (September 6 – 13). As the fashion world is 6 months ahead, and Australia has the opposite season pattern to America, we will probably start to see these fun shades feature in upcoming summer fashions.

Without further ado, check out the delicious colours we have to look forward to…

Here are some intriguing colour combinations:

The "unexpected" combination of Dusk Blue and Nectarine reminds us of the Giggle & Hoot-inspired dessert table we styled for one-year-old twin girls, Abi & Emi - check it out here.

The executive director of Pantone Colour Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, has described the Spring 2013 colour palette as emphasizing the “need for balance, while at the same time allowing for individuality, self expression, and excitement.” This is what has influenced the bright tones with new, interesting neutrals (Gray Jade and Dusk Blue).

The Little Birdie girls are certainly finding these out-there dynamic tones combined with soft, calming hues very exciting! Like the palette for Spring 2012, you will definitely be catching these colours in our upcoming work.

Soon we will be sharing colour palettes that we have created for some of our upcoming events. We will also be sharing a special occasion, which featured a well known colour palette not dissimilar to the combination of Poppy Red, Monaco Blue, and Lemon Zest… Keep a look out!

Vivaldi encapsulated spring in his glorious musical score.

Botticelli brought spring to life in art with his exquisite masterpiece, Primavera.

And, Pantone (the global authority on colour) captured spring in their Spring Colour Report for 2012, including colour of the year, Tangerine Tango. Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Colour Institute, spoke about consumers looking to spring for "renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day". Well, the Little Birdie girls are certainly feeling inspired by the vivid brights, soft muted tones, and fun-loving pastels featured this season!

The report coincided with New York Fashion Week (September 2011), and with the fashion world always working 6-months ahead, it seemed a little far off for Australians. Though, now it is our turn!

The report, aptly named "Dance Into Spring", revealed the most prominent hues for spring 2012.

Check out these gorgeous colour combinations, too-

You will definitely see these colours featured in our upcoming work during this glorious Brisbane Spring.

The day after the beginning of spring, Father's Day gave the Little Birdie family the perfect opportunity to spend quality time with the fathers and grandfathers in their lives.

We are looking forward to styling a beautiful first birthday this coming weekend. Emma (of E. V. O'Neill Photography) will be capturing the delicious images, and we will share them with you soon.
